One person was killed in a massive pile-up involving dozens of vehicles and semi trucks on an Oregon interstate.
State police personnel responded to an accident involving 15 to 20 commercial vehicles and 45 passenger vehicles on Interstate 5 southbound at around 8 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
Police said that one person died in the accident which occurred due to dense fog.
The lanes leading to the south were completely blocked, and there was still a detour several hours after the accident.
Police said several public safety agencies assisted at the scene and local school buses helped relocate 40 drivers.
The Department of Environmental Quality and HAZMAT also responded to the scene after six commercial vehicles leaked fluid on the highway, police said.
