Airbnb is cracking down on rowdy New Year’s Eve parties

Airbnb is limiting options for those who want to party on New Year’s Eve in someone else’s home.

Airbnb said Thursday that the short-term rental service is preventing some users from booking entire properties for one night in a bid to prevent over-the-top New Year’s Eve parties in the US and 10 other countries.

“These proactive rescues will help promote responsible travel and prevent rare instances of unwanted behavior,” Naba Banerjee, Airbnb’s director of trust product and operations, said in a statement.

Anyone who does not have a positive account history or has not previously booked on the platform will be prohibited from making New Year’s Eve reservations, and the same guests who attempt to arrange a two or three night reservation, They will also face investigation, especially those who are trying to do this.
