Dwyane Wade responds after ex-wife moves to stop daughter Zaya’s name change

“I’m worried that [Dwyane] may pressure our child to go ahead with a name and gender change in order to take advantage of the financial opportunities offered by the company.”

In response to the objection, Wade posted a statement on Instagram on Thursday.

“Since this should be a new way of parenting, I feel I have to address these allegations here, which is a great shame,” he wrote.

Wade said he saw social media posts that claimed he was forcing Zaya to legally change her name. “These are serious and harmful allegations that have hurt our children,” he said.
