Fans gather to remember rapper Takeoff who was killed at State Farm Arena in Atlanta

State Farm Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks, is hosting a memorial service to celebrate the rapper’s life and music.

The Grammy Award-nominated trio Migos also included Takeoff’s uncle Quavo and cousin Offset. The three were largely raised in an Atlanta suburb by Takeoff’s mother.

Migos broke up almost a decade ago with the 2013 hit “Versace,” which rose to even greater heights in popularity through the Drake remix.

Takeoff was the youngest in the group and was often considered its youngest member.

Instead of flowers or gifts, his family has asked people to donate to The Rocket Foundation, which was established in honor of Takeoff and aims to stop gun violence, according to its website.
