Father, teenage son charged with shooting and killing rapper PnB Rock in Los Angeles

A man and his 17-year-old son were charged with murder on Thursday in a deadly shootout Officials said rapper PNB Rock’s in a South Los Angeles restaurant.

Freddie Lee Tron, 40, who has yet to be arrested, and his son, who were taken into custody Tuesday, each on one count of murder, two counts of second-degree robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery was accused of.

A 38-year-old woman, Shantel Tron, was also arrested on Tuesday and charged with being an aide after the fact of the murder. His relationship with the two other defendants was not immediately clear.

The jailed juvenile made a preliminary appearance in the juvenile court and was asked to return next month. The Shantel Tron was to be introduced later on Thursday. It is not clear whether either of them has a lawyer.

Police are still looking for Freddie Lee Tron, whom they say should be considered armed and dangerous.

PnB Rock, a 30-year-old Philadelphia hip-hop artist whose legal name is Rakim Allen, was shot on September 13 while eating with his girlfriend at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘n Waffles. According to investigators, a robber approached their desk and demanded the goods from the rapper.

Detectives have said that a social media post may have told Rock’s killer about his location. Rock’s girlfriend posted the location and tagged the rapper in an Instagram post that has since been deleted.

Police said the robber took some belongings from the victim and fled in the car waiting in the parking lot. Rock was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Rock was known for his 2016 hit “Selfish” and for guest appearances on songs by other artists such as YFN Lucy’s “Everyday We Lit” and Ed Sheeran’s “Cross Me” with Chance the Rapper. Their latest track, “Love Me Again,” was released on September 2.
