Massive 2,560-pound pumpkin raised by Minnesota gardening teacher breaks American record

A Minnesota gardening teacher set a new American record for heaviest pumpkin on Monday after gaining 2,560 pounds.
Travis Genzer of Anoka, Minnesota, set a new record and won an annual pumpkin-weighting contest in Northern California.
Genzer drove the Garguan Gourd for 35 hours to see his hard work pay off at the 49th World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off at Half Moon Bay, south of San Francisco.

Gianger, who won the same competition in Northern California in 2020, broke a record set last week in New York, where a grower picked up a huge pumpkin weighing 2,554 pounds.
A producer in Italy holds the world record for the heaviest pumpkin. According to Guinness World Records, he grew 2,702 pounds of squash in 2021.
