Nancy Pelosi’s husband “violently attacked” her San Francisco home

A suspect ransacked Pelosi’s residence in San Francisco on Friday morning and “violently attacked” Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, according to the speaker’s spokesman.

Pelosi’s spokesman Drew Hamill said the speaker was not at the residence at the time and Paul Pelosi, 82, is in hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

“Early this morning, an assailant broke into Pelosi’s residence in San Francisco and violently attacked Mr Pelosi,” Hamill said. “The attacker is in custody and the motive for the attack is being investigated. Mr. Pelosi was taken to hospital, where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery. The speaker was not in San Francisco. Time.”

“The speaker and his family are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved, and request confidentiality at this time,” Hamill said.

CBS News has contacted the San Francisco Police Department.

Pelosis has been married since 1963 and has five children.
