Romance novel cover model indicted in January 6 case

Logan James Barnhart, who appeared on a romance novel cover as a model, pleaded guilty Wednesday to assaulting officers using a dangerous weapon Attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021,

Barnhart’s statement of crime, filed in federal court in Washington, D.C., said Barnhart and other co-defendants gathered on the Capitol’s west terrace and engaged with police officers. Notably, Barnhart grabbed the neck of an officer’s ballistic vest, and Barnhart and another co-defendant dragged the officer into the crowd, according to a court filing. Prosecutors said that there, other rioters beat up the officer with weapons, including flags and sticks.

Barnhart was arrested in August 2021 for his role in the Capitol attack in Michigan after the FBI released his image to help the public identify him.

Barnhart was initially charged with assault, resisting or obstructing certain officers using a dangerous weapon, and aiding and abetting; civil disorder; entering and living in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds; and violent entry into the Capitol Building or grounds and disorderly conduct.

Barnhart pleaded guilty to assault, resisting or obstructing certain officers using a dangerous weapon, and is to be sentenced in March 2023. According to prosecutors, he faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Bernhardt has appeared on the covers of romance novels including “Lighter” and “Half-Brother Unsealed: A Bad Boy Military Romance”.
