Tom Cruise all set to become the first actor to shoot his movie in space

It looks like Tom Cruise’s next mission is sure to create a new record. Yes, you heard right! It’s because he is about to become the first actor to shoot in space. Hollywood movies like The Martian, Interstellar and Gravity have already given us a realistic look at the world of space travel. However, no film crew has ever ventured beyond space to shoot similarly themed movies. After scaling the world’s tallest building, hanging off the side of a plane and flying a fighter jet in some of his movies, Tom Cruise is now venturing into space – and for real!

the unique project

Speaking about the project that is currently grabbing headlines, it was first introduced in 2020 when The Bourne Identity actor and director Doug Liman teamed up to make the impossible possible. However, his plans seemed to be pushed back by the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the duo have spoken with Universal Studios Hollywood about the project in which Tom Cruise will fly a rocket to the International Space Station.

people’s reactions

Universal chairwoman Donna Langley spoke to the BBC about the upcoming plan, reportedly saying: “I think Tom Cruise will take us into space. He is taking the world into space. This is the plan. We have a big project in the works with Tom that sees him doing exactly that and taking a rocket to the space station and blasting away.”

Langley also revealed that most of the scenes in the as yet untitled film would be shot on Earth. However, the crew is hopeful that Tom Cruise will become the first civilian to spacewalk outside the space station.

Additionally, The Bourne Identity director Doug Liman was also asked about the film, which is reportedly estimated to cost around $200 million. However, he insisted that the creators have not yet finalized the budget. There is no denying that a flight into space will cost a huge amount!
